Airalo
Largest eSIM Marketplace
Airalo was one of the first eSIM marketplaces in the world, and it's still the largest today.
And yet its paid creative sells the eSIM concept, not proof Airalo is easy to use or better than competitors.

My process
From research-backed gaps to a structured test, and how I'd read the result.
Find the gaps
I used Claude Cowork to analyze Airalo's Meta ad library. 90% of Airalo's 250 live ads are TOF educational concepts. They explain what an eSIM is and why someone needs one.
Core Messaging Strategies In Current Airalo Creative
As of September 2026, Airalo's messaging is strong on why it beats roaming, SIM cards, and hotel Wi-Fi. None of it speaks to why Airalo beats other eSIM providers, or to shoppers unsure they can install it.
THE GAP

Meanwhile, competitors have much more concept diversity. They're running comparison-stage and objection-handling ads. These angles are nowhere to be found in Airalo's current account. Now independent reviewers are ranking competitors, like Saily and Holafly, ahead of Airalo for first-time and short-trip usage.
Briefs
📌 Briefs below are purely scripts + visual direction, written the way I'd pitch the creative vision to the client (you). That same direction gets a layer of technical depth added when it's handed off to creators and editors.
Brief 1: Timed Installation Demo (Anxious First-Timer, Product Aware)
The Anxious First-Timer already knows Airalo and what an eSIM is, but is stuck on one doubt: "I'll mess up the setup and land with no data." This ad answers that doubt with unedited, timed proof instead of a claim that it's easy.
HOOK VARIATIONS3 variants, same body
I have to leave for the airport in 10 minutes.
(Talking to camera)
Of course I waited until now to figure out my phone data.
(VO)
Everyone says it's easy. I'm about to find out for real.
(Talking to camera)
LEADthe story and the emotional tension
I have exactly 2 minutes to set up an eSIM… which I've never done before.
(Talking to camera: rushed/nervous/frazzled)
The problem is, I'm the one in my family who calls everyone else when I have an issue with my phone.
(Talking to camera, tone: as if admitting to a flaw, self-aware and slightly humorous vibes)
Let's see if I can install this correctly, as a technologically challenged person.
(VO, rushed/nervous/frazzled. Transition: cut to VO as they turn to the phone, same energy as the lines before.)
Because if I mess this up, I land in a new country with no data, no maps, and no way to even call my ride.
(VO, quieter and honest, the worry showing.)
But my friend who travels every month for work swears Airalo is the easiest eSIM to use… (deep breath) … so I'm going to give it a go.
(VO, like an older sister/friend sharing a candid tip they learned, and then being "vulnerable" about taking us through them "giving it a try")
BASEthe product and the proof
I'm going to open the app and search the country I'm going to and then I will look through the data packages, and pick which one is best for my trip.
(VO, casual/non-tech narration)
My friend gave me a new user referral code, so I do get some money off this purchase.
(VO)
Now this is the part I'm nervous about: messing up the installation.
(VO, nervous/venting)
and activate. OK. Continue…
(VO, muttering through final buttons)
and now I nervously wait to see if it's going to install or if I did something wrong.
(VO, spilling unease)
and installed? Woah that feels way too easy.
(VO, reading on-screen confirmation)
Okay I have trust issues, so I'm going to go into my settings and check it is installed.
(VO, still doubtful)
Yep, here it is.
(VO, confirmed/relieved tone)
This is definitely the easiest way to get unlimited data for any international trip in less than two minutes.
(VO, confident/at ease)
Download Airalo before your next trip and land with unlimited data.
(VO)
Customer language
"Now this is the part I'm nervous about" comes from an App Store review: "I thought I'd botched it and couldn't tell if it had actually installed." The nervous-wait beat uses that exact doubt.
Persona psychology
The Anxious First-Timer already knows Airalo and what an eSIM is. They are not doubting the product, they are doubting themselves. That is why the creator calls themselves "technologically challenged" and fumbles with the phone. This persona needs to see someone like them succeed, not an expert.
Data-backed decision
As of October 2026, zero Airalo ads across US + UK markets address anxiety about the installation process. Yet the Anxious First-Timer (about 22% of 200+ analyzed reviews) names it as a real objection standing between them and a purchase.

Here's a content mock up for the 'Timed Installation Demo' ad mentioned above. It gives the Anxious First-Timer unedited proof they can do the setup themselves, instead of just a claim that it's easy.
